Synopsis
: In the glittering world of elite, four emotionally conflicted young lives who come from starkly different social backgrounds are drawn together by love, ambition, and the pursuit of happiness
Two best friends from opposite worlds, Yoon-Ha and Ji-Yi, are each searching for fulfillment, but in vastly different ways. Yoon-Ha, the youngest daughter of a powerful chaebol family, hides behind the mask of a part-time supermarket employee, desperate to escape the stifling expectations of wealth. Labeled as the “ugly duckling” in her family, she craves genuine love, dreaming of a life where she is valued for her true self rather than the fortune she was born into.
In contrast, Ji-Yi comes from a modest, working-class background, but embraces life as it comes. Bright and content, she doesn’t aspire for the luxuries or status that seem out of reach, choosing instead to cherish the simplicity of her existence.
Their worlds are upended when two men enter their lives. Joon-Ki, an ambitious, self-made man from a poor family, is determined to ascend the social ladder and approaches Yoon-Ha with ulterior motives masked by charm. Meanwhile, Chang-Soo, a carefree heir to a department store empire, unexpectedly finds himself falling for Ji-Yi, despite the vast divide between their social statuses.
As these four become entangled in each other’s lives, they are forced to confront the bitter harsh realities lurking behind the glittering facade of wealth, ambition, and desire.
