Synopsis

Soon-Young never asked for much. Although she was never quite welcomed by the world after losing her parents at a young age, she managed to grow into a bright and resilient woman with dreams and hopes. After marrying Se-Jun, a brilliant young cosmetics CEO with a heart as kind as his future was promising, Soon-Young thought she had finally found her happy ending. Se-Jun’s mom is no picnic, and her life as a daughter-in-law is quite overwhelming, but it’s all bearable since she had Se-Jun. But fate, ever cruel, had other plans. Se-Jun suddenly dies in a car accident, leaving Soon-Young and their newly adopted daughter, Ddalgi, heartbroken and alone. Devastated and lost, Soon-Young nearly gives up, desperate to follow Se-Jun. But because of Ddalgi, she can’t.

A few years pass. Following in her late husband’s footsteps, Soon-Young begins to rebuild her life starting a career in cosmetics industry, eventually leading herself to be drawn to a new love: the icy yet warmhearted CEO, Kyu-Jin, who carries heartbreak of his own. But fate strikes again throwing her into a twisted family web. Her once-close friend Se-Bin, a former mean girl who treated her like a servant in middle school and evil sister-in-law, becomes her daughter-in-law.

As Soon-Young navigates this tense new household, she finds herself caught in Se-Bin’s web of manipulations, fractured relationships, and buried secrets that refuses to stay buried.
