Synopsis
: Story of two fashion designers who’s lives were switched and two men who had to fight for their love while being thrown on a special mission from the government during a dynamic era full of tears, heartache, and passion
In the early 1950s, the small town of Sariwon is buzzing with excitement over Marilyn Monroe’s upcoming performance for the troops and townspeople. Yet for four children, this day will mark the beginning of a tragic entanglement that will bind them forever.
Dong-Young loses his late mother’s ring, stolen by Kang-Hee’s mother. Joon-Hee is grounded for trying to cover up the theft, and Kang-Hee, forced by her mother, swallows the pearl from the ring. Meanwhile, Jang Bin is crushed by his mother’s harsh words for being a troublemaker. That evening, their world is torn apart as North Korean forces attack, and four children are swept in different directions, separated by tragedy and war.
Years pass. Dong-Young, now the President’s Chief of Staff, is tasked with scouting an island for a nuclear facility. There, he encounters Joon-Hee, though neither recognizes each other. Joon-Hee, suffering from amnesia and living under a new identity, is inexplicably drawn to him. As fate would have it, Joon-Hee crosses paths with Jang Bin, who is now a petty criminal. Though unaware of their shared past, Jang Bin falls deeply for her and helps her chase her dream of becoming a fashion designer. Kang-Hee, raised by Joon-Hee’s father under her name, eventually becomes friends with Joon-Hee, but neither recognize each other. As Dong-Young’s feelings for Joon-Hee deepen, Kang-Hee sees him slipping away, igniting a fierce rivalry between the two. Their competition echoes the legendary rivalry of Coco Chanel and Elsa Schiaparelli, with both battling for supremacy in the cutthroat world of fashion design.
As Dong-Young and Jang Bin are sent on a dangerous government mission, their lives hanging by a thread, Joon-Hee and Kang-Hee must navigate the treacherous world of fashion. Yet, beneath their ambitions and desires lies the unspoken yearning to piece together their fragmented pasts. Their destinies, still intertwined by a fateful day in Sariwon, will force them to confront the truth and each other as they grapple with a merciless fate.
